SBA partners with Perplexity to launch $25M Main Street AI Accelerator

The U.S. is striving to maintain its position as the global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and is promoting initiatives that support innovation and economic growth among small businesses.
The Trump administration’s AI legislative framework emphasizes the role of emerging technologies in strengthening American communities and small businesses, focusing on economic growth and energy dominance.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) sees artificial intelligence as critical for driving innovation and growth among smaller companies, with Administrator Kelly Loeffler stressing AI’s importance for job creation and economic development on Main Street.
To support small businesses in leveraging AI, AI firm Perplexity has launched the Main Street AI Accelerator in partnership with the SBA, offering $250 Computer credits to up to 100,000 small business recipients of SBA loans.
The initiative provides small businesses access to Perplexity’s unified system, “Computer,” which connects with over 400 tools, including major business platforms, potentially providing the equivalent of 100 digital co-workers.
Perplexity also plans to offer hands-on training and concierge onboarding to help small businesses effectively use its AI system, aiming to give them a boost in their initial stages.
