Georgia Will Build Statewide AI ‘Guardrails’ With Darwin

The Georgia Technology Authority has partnered with Darwin AI to establish a comprehensive framework for AI governance across the state.
The collaboration aims to create a centralized platform for managing AI policies, data oversight, and compliance across various government agencies.
The initiative employs a “foundation-first approach” by setting rules and constraints, referred to as “guardrails,” to ensure responsible AI adoption and usage.
Darwin’s Govern product will be used to set these regulations, while the Darwin LaunchPad will enable agencies to design and deploy mission-specific workflows, scaling AI from pilot projects to sustainable adoption.
An early phase will involve assessing the current use of AI across the state and converting Georgia’s existing governance structures into practical oversight processes for managing AI’s growing use.
The partnership underscores Georgia’s ambition to be a leader in AI, combining policy enforcement, innovation labs, and training with effective guardrails to demonstrate responsible AI practices.
Success in this endeavor will be measured not only by the number of AI tools deployed but by the state’s ability to scale AI responsibly, maintaining public trust and compliance with standards while minimizing risks.
