The jury’s decision is non-binding but Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers indicated she would align her ruling with the verdict.
The nine-person jury deliberated for three weeks, involving testimonies from key figures like Musk, Altman, Brockman, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Musk sought $134 billion to be redistributed from the for-profit arm of OpenAI to its non-profit, and demanded Altman and Brockman be removed from their positions.
Central allegations included that Altman and Brockman restructured the company in breach of founding agreements, accusations OpenAI strongly denied.
The trial revealed internal conflicts and Musk’s motivations, including jealousy after his attempt to takeover and subsequent departure from the company.
