The White House has released a legislative blueprint outlining six guiding principles for artificial intelligence (AI) policies.
The principles focus on protecting children, empowering parents, safeguarding communities, intellectual property rights, preventing censorship and protecting free speech, enabling innovation, ensuring American AI dominance, and developing an AI-ready workforce.
The framework emphasizes the need for “strong federal leadership” to gain public trust in AI usage.
There is a push from Congress, civil liberties groups, and consumer rights organizations for more AI regulations, due to perceived insufficient oversight.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order in December to prevent states from creating their own AI regulations to avoid a fragmented regulatory environment.
