44th Palkhivala Memorial Lecture held on ‘Artificial Intelligence for Aam Aadmi’

Nitin Paranjpe, Chairman of Hindustan Unilever Limited, delivered the 44th Palkhivala Memorial Lecture on “Artificial Intelligence for Aam Aadmi,” emphasizing AI’s multifaceted impact on the economy, society, governance, and morality.
Paranjpe highlighted the profound nature of current technological changes and developments in AI, noting its capability to create and converse like humans.
He expressed concerns about AI’s potential risks, including digital colonization, job displacement, power concentration, spread of misinformation, erosion of privacy, and reduction of human accountability.
Paranjpe underscored the necessity of managing the transition to AI in India, where a large number of people enter the job market each year, calling it a social and economic imperative.
