Ipsen is exploring the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to support scientific data analysis, reduce rework, and expedite decision-making processes in its research and development.
Launched in May 2026, the pilot initiative involves over 40 colleagues from Ipsen’s Research & Development and Medical departments working together on various use cases, such as external innovation assessments and scientific literature synthesis.
The project aims to enhance high-value activities involving the analysis of large volumes of complex data, employing tools like Claude Science and Claude Code.
A key focus of the pilot is maintaining strong governance, appropriate access, and robust controls to ensure AI tools are used responsibly and ethically.
The initiative is not intended simply for the sake of AI application but to test how responsibly managed AI can accelerate the delivery of new medicines to patients.
