Emory Law launches artificial intelligence and law concentration

Emory University School of Law will introduce a new concentration in Artificial Intelligence and the Law for the 2026-27 academic year.
The concentration integrates existing law curriculum with interdisciplinary courses from business, technology, and quantitative methods.
It aims to provide students with expertise in one of the fastest-growing areas of legal practice utilizing the strong AI-focused programs present at Emory Law.
The curriculum will require 12 credits from three core areas: law and AI foundations, privacy and technology law, and intellectual property.
Graduates will demonstrate fluency in navigating the legal challenges posed by AI and emerging technologies directly on their transcripts.
Advising the program is a committee of distinguished experts in AI and legal fields, including the AI.Humanity Initiative, the Center for AI Learning, and other leading scholars.
The concentration seeks to prepare students, emphasizing thinking like a lawyer in an AI-dominated world, according to Matthew Sag.
It adds to Emory Law’s existing academic tracks, further diversifying the available concentrations and certificate programs.
