Anthropic Drops ‘Workplace AI Agents’ Directly Inside Slack

Anthropic has released a beta version of its Claude Tag feature in Beta for Enterprise and Team tiers, integrating the model into Slack channels instead of isolated chat boxes.
Users can initiate AI functions by typing @Claude, allowing team members to delegate tasks, review outputs, and continue discussions from previous points.
The new approach aims to reduce back-and-forth movement between chat and browser instances by enabling AI agents to work in multiplayer environments.
Anthropic’s Opus 4.8 engine powers the integration, enabling the AI to function asynchronously and monitor threads, track tasks, and execute operations autonomously.
The feature includes security measures to restrict data access to approved departments, with administrative controls for managing token costs and tracking user queries.
