The TRAMTECH project, initiated by CAF SA, aims to develop autonomous tram technology for URBOS trams that will automate driving functions, enhancing safety, efficiency, and operational flexibility.
The project focuses on AI-assisted driving, perception systems, and digital communication solutions that reduce reliance on traditional infrastructure signals.
Funded by the European Union via NextGenerationEU Funds and subsidized by the Basque Government, TRAMTECH is part of the HAZITEK call under FEDER (Funding Europe’s way to Build Europe).
CAF SA, a leading Spain-based company in rolling stock manufacturing, operates in segments like railway vehicles and infrastructure, with extensive international operations.
The financial market at the time showed a minor increase of +0.16% in the company’s stock value, despite a 5-day change showing a -0.79% decrease and a year-to-date increase of +6.28%.
