DIA considering new AI-powered platform to streamline procurement system

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is exploring the implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI) prototype project to enhance its procurement processes.
The DIA issued a request for information (RFI) seeking innovative AI-powered solutions to improve efficiency in its acquisition lifecycle.
The goal is to modernize outdated technology and manual processes to reduce inefficiencies and increase accuracy in procurement tasks.
Envisioned applications include enhancing market research, generating accurate clause recommendations, producing draft acquisition documentation, and supporting role-based access and business rules.
Marine Lt. Gen. James Adams, the newly appointed head of the DIA, emphasizes the need for technology modernization, particularly through AI, to improve data systems and support modern warfare.
The DIA aims to demonstrate commercially available AI solutions swiftly and seeks white papers from industry providers by July 2 for awarding prototyping contracts.
