DECATUR, Ala. — Local students interested in cybersecurity will have the opportunity to learn about the field through free CyberPatriot camps hosted by the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce and Calhoun Community College.
The five-day camps will take place Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, at Calhoun’s Decatur campus and are available at no cost to students.

Two camps will be offered, including one for rising ninth through 12th grade students and another for rising sixth through eighth grade students.
During the camps, students will learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity through hands-on activities involving Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, multiple numbering systems and operating system configuration.
CyberPatriot is a national youth cyber education program designed to introduce students across the U.S. to cybersecurity and help build skills in the growing field.
Camp hours will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, with each day beginning on Calhoun’s Decatur campus.
