France to invest €655 million in AI, set up common chatbot for all state services

The French government is investing €655 million ($758.29 million) in artificial intelligence initiatives.
A common chatbot will be established for all state services, including a public health chatbot for the state-owned health insurance agency Ameli.
A new platform will be created to facilitate easier access to public data.
Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu emphasized the necessity to lead, rather than be subjected to, the artificial intelligence revolution.
He highlighted the urgency of the state transforming rapidly in the field of AI and noted France’s need to develop its own tools rather than relying on those of foreign powers.
This announcement was made in conjunction with the start of the “Viva Tech” conference in Paris.
