Türkiye sets new targets in artificial intelligence action plan: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced Türkiye’s new artificial intelligence action plan, aiming to position the country as a leader in AI technologies.
The plan supports Türkiye’s digital transformation and technological capacity, emphasizing the integration of AI with political, military, and economic power.
The action plan is built on four main pillars: awareness, use, production, and governance.
A national AI literacy program will educate 5 million citizens within two years, aimed at helping them understand both the opportunities and risks associated with AI.
The use pillar focuses on expanding AI applications in public services, industry, education, health, agriculture, and security.
Türkiye plans to increase its installed data-center capacity to at least 1 gigawatt by 2030 and introduce legal regulations for data centers to meet international standards.
The production pillar aims to develop domestic AI models and create AI growth zones to foster innovation and rapid prototyping, while also managing AI-related risks.
