- Ahmed Gobir, President and Chairman of the CIPM, highlighted the need for responsible AI governance focusing on human dignity, fairness, transparency, inclusion, and accountability.
- Prof Sunday Adebisi noted that AI has become a global infrastructure, impacting learning, production, governance, and communication, while warning of the challenges Africa faces in maximizing AI benefits, including inadequate digital infrastructure and skills gaps.
- Henry Onukuwba, also from CIPM, praised AI’s potential to improve service delivery and education but stressed the necessity of integrating it responsibly to avoid compromising fairness and trust.
- The conference acknowledged the need for stronger collaboration between academia, industry, and government to create transparent, fair, and innovative AI systems that consider the future of work.
- Outstanding research contributions at the conference were recognized, with Dr Aramide Kuforiji receiving the top award and Prof Sam Bodunrin and Dr Ifeanyi Enukorah securing second and third places.
