Q-Free has launched Dynamic CV, a connected vehicle software module designed to help transportation agencies secure intersection technology against cyber threats.
The module forms part of Q-Free’s Dynamic Software platform and processes connected vehicle applications directly on the traffic controller using an encrypted API, without dependence on a central system.
Dynamic CV securely exchanges Signal Phase and Timing (SPaT), MAP intersection geometry, Signal Status Messages (SSM), and Traveler Information Messages (TIM) data in real time, while processing incoming vehicle requests and safety messages at the edge.
The module supports a range of traffic management applications, including emergency vehicle pre-emption, transit signal priority, dilemma zone protection, red light runner detection, and pedestrian and bicycle services. It also enables time-to-green and suggested speed functions aimed at improving traffic flow and driver awareness.
