Stefan Knighton Named CIAIO at Karman Space & Defense

Karman Space & Defense has introduced a new executive role, Chief Information and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CIAIO), which Stefan Knighton has been appointed to fill.
Knighton’s role involves AI governance, technology strategy, business systems, and enterprise IT management.
The CIAIO position is aimed at unifying and enhancing Karman’s IT operations and AI strategy to support the company’s competitive advantage.
Knighton brings extensive experience in enterprise technology modernization and digital transformation, previously leading initiatives at Kyndryl and Lockheed Martin.
CEO Jon Rambeau believes that the CIAIO position signifies the necessity of developing technology infrastructure and AI strategy concurrently.
Knighton’s appointment is part of a broader leadership revamp that includes recent additions to executive roles such as Chief Growth Officer Doug Laurendeau.
Karman continues to strengthen its position in the defense industry, recently expanding its maritime defense capabilities through strategic acquisitions.
