Foxconn and Intel team up to build AI systems

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co and Intel Corp announced a strategic partnership to develop next-generation AI infrastructure and computing platforms.
The collaboration aims to combine Hon Hai’s manufacturing and system integration expertise with Intel’s processor architecture, silicon technologies, and software ecosystem.
The partnership focuses on creating equipment for AI data centers, including server racks and AI accelerator chips, as well as exploring high-speed interconnect technologies and energy-efficient solutions for AI systems.
The companies also plan to develop AI systems for areas outside traditional data centers, such as factories, smart cities, and robotics.
Hon Hai and Intel are exploring custom chips and system integration solutions, along with potential advancements in computing platforms and global supply chain capabilities.
The partnership was formally established with a memorandum of understanding signed between Hon Hai chairman Young Liu and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan in Taipei. Details on financial value, customers, and launch timelines were not disclosed.
Separately, Hon Hai is working with South Korea’s SK Group to explore opportunities in AI infrastructure, servers, data centers, robotics, energy management, and battery technologies.
