UH partners on AI workforce readiness symposium series

The University of Hawaiʻi partners with the State Workforce Development Council and Imua ʻOnipaʻa for a symposium series, “The AI Transformation: Preparing Hawaiʻi’s Workforce for the Future.”
The second event of this series is tentatively scheduled for June 25, 2026, focusing on “Building an AI ready workforce in Hawaiʻi.”
UH participates alongside several state departments to emphasize its pivotal role in workforce development.
UH President Wendy Hensel and State Workforce Development Council’s executive director Bennette E. Misalucha stress the importance of preparing for AI advancements and cross-agency collaboration.
The first session of the symposium series was held in April, focusing on AI’s current state and future impact, guided by the AI Safety Awareness Project experts.
