European Parliament to host Article 17 Dialogue Seminar on “Health and well-being in the Age of AI” on Tuesday 9 June

- The European Parliament is organizing a dialogue seminar on “Health and well-being in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Communities tackling isolation and digital risks” on Tuesday, 9 June 2026 from 15:00 to 18:30 in Brussels.
- The main focus of the seminar is the current challenges related to the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence, its effect on health, well-being, loneliness, and social isolation.
- Participants will include representatives from Churches, religious associations, and philosophical non-confessional organizations who will discuss their perspectives on these issues.
- The event will be moderated by Antonella Sberna, Vice-President of the European Parliament, and comes with the involvement of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), represented by theologian Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Agius.
- Participation in the seminar is open to the public. Those with a European Parliament access badge may attend directly; others must register online by 4 June 2026 via a provided link.
- The seminar will be held at the European Parliament in Brussels (Spinelli building, room 1E2).
- A related reflection paper by COMECE entitled “Mental Health in Europe: A call for care” contributes to the public and political debate on mental health in the European Union, calling for policies based on human dignity, solidarity, and integral care.
