Long Island University Launches AI and Innovation Center

Long Island University (LIU) is launching the Artificial Intelligence and Academic Innovation (AI2) Center to unify and expand its AI research and educational initiatives.
The AI2 Center will promote collaboration and experimentation by combining all disciplinary programs related to artificial intelligence.
The initiative will expand LIU’s Artificial Intelligence Competency Distinction credential, providing an additional nine-credit program offering an introduction to AI tools, ethical considerations, and a lab component.
LIU’s mission is to prepare students across various disciplines for success in an AI-driven economy, according to President Kimberly Cline.
The university is investing in new facilities, including a 40,000-square-foot science building on its Post campus dedicated to AI research in medicine, and a lab partnership with Dassault Systèmes for 3D design and simulation.
LIU’s AI2 Center aims to enhance interdisciplinary research and workforce development and to position the institution as a national leader in AI education and innovation.
