Fiserv and OpenAI Bring Frontier AI to Banks

Fiserv has introduced an advanced AI operating system named agentOS designed for financial institutions to deploy, manage, and scale AI agents across their workflows.
agentOS is currently in beta with two financial institutions and is expected to be available to a wider audience by August.
The agentOS platform operates across Fiserv’s FinTech systems and features an agent marketplace enabling institutions to use Fiserv-built agents, create their own, or use third-party agents.
Fiserv has formed a collaboration with OpenAI to integrate frontier AI into agentOS, focusing on creating agents, modernization, risk reduction, day-to-day operational efficiency, and advanced cybersecurity.
The collaboration aims to deliver real, tangible operational improvements directly to the clients of Fiserv, according to Co-president Dhivya Suryadevara.
OpenAI’s vice president, Ashley Kramer, stated the partnership will allow financial institutions to modernize quickly, operate more effectively, and improve customer experiences.
In the broader context, AI companies are aggressively pursuing integration within financial service operations including banking infrastructure, compliance, fraud systems, and treasury management.
Fiserv has reported significant reductions in client support handling times and incident resolutions, crediting heavy use of AI in its operations.
