- Vantage Edge, the Army’s Artificial Intelligence Platform Workflows Challenge, held from April 6-10 saw teams compete virtually, with five submissions from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
- USACE highlighted how AI can help in areas like engineering quality, real estate, knowledge management, and budgeting.
- The USACE Real Estate team won the Technical Excellence Award for their Southern Border Real Estate Mission Intelligence Platform, which uses AI to transform land acquisition data into actionable leader decisions, potentially saving 70,000 hours.
- The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) submitted two AI systems: the AI Criteria Assistant and the Multimeter project aimed at assisting in design standards and quality controls.
- The USACE FORGESkill Builder developed by the Buffalo District and the DITTO Budget Estimation Tool from the Huntington District were also part of the submissions to assist with workforce and budget processes.
- USACE’s submissions demonstrate the effectiveness of AI in expediting project delivery, enhancing engineering quality and optimizing resource use, thereby supporting various national engineering challenges.
