Taiwan makes it to top 20 in report on AI diffusion

Taiwan has entered the top 20 countries with the highest AI diffusion rate for the first time, ranking 20th globally in the first quarter of this year.
Taiwan ranks ahead of the US, Denmark, and Germany, securing a generative AI usage rate of 31.8 percent of its working population.
Japan and Taiwan saw the most significant increases in AI use, recording a rise of 3.4 percentage points.
Global AI diffusion rate reached 17.8 percent in the first quarter, signifying a 1.5 percentage point increase from the last half of the previous year.
The most significant increases in AI adoption were seen in Asia, with South Korea leading the region and the world with a 43.2 percent growth in AI users.
The gap between AI adoption in the “global north” and the “global south” is widening, attributing to challenges such as limited access to infrastructure and skills in the global south.
The United Arab Emirates and Singapore have the highest AI diffusion rates globally, exceeding 50 percent.
