The Ministry of National Security is advising stakeholders and businesses that the National Cybersecurity Unit [NCU] is “beginning the distribution of emails this week for Bermuda’s inaugural National Cybersecurity Risk Assessment.”
A Government spokesperson said, “Stakeholders and businesses that receive an email are asked to complete the assessment by 30 June 2026.
“The information collected will help guide the next phase of Bermuda’s cybersecurity planning and support the development of an updated National Cybersecurity Strategy.
“The assessment is a jurisdiction-wide exercise to gather current risk information from across the public and private sectors.”
Minister Weeks stated, “This National Cybersecurity Risk Assessment is an important national exercise. It will help Government gather current information from across the public and private sectors and guide the next phase of Bermuda’s cybersecurity planning.
“Cybersecurity affects Government, businesses, public services, personal information and the wider community. I strongly encourage all stakeholders and businesses that receive an email from the National Cybersecurity Unit to complete the assessment by 30 June 2026.”
The Government spokesperson said, “The NCU is distributing the assessment by email this week, and each participating organisation will receive a referenced email that is unique to that organisation.
“Emails should not be shared outside of the organisation.
“If an individual receives an email and is not the correct person for their organisation, they are asked to contact [email protected] so the email direction can be corrected.
“If an organisation has not received an email by 7 May 2026 and wishes to contribute, it should send a request to [email protected].”
Minister Weeks added, “Government is acting now because the country cannot afford delay. Cybersecurity requires structure, urgency and informed action, and this assessment is part of that work.
“The more complete the participation, the clearer the picture Bermuda will have as we prepare the next phase of our national cybersecurity planning.
“I thank all participating organisations in advance for taking the time to assist with this important work.”
