UW-Whitewater to launch artificial intelligence bachelor’s degree

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is introducing a new Bachelor of Science degree in artificial intelligence starting this fall.
The program joins other AI-focused programs being rolled out by UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, and Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The curriculum combines courses in computer science, mathematics, psychology, and philosophy, covering natural language processing, large language models, data mining, cognitive psychology, and ethical considerations of AI.
Graduates are expected to pursue careers in data science, information security, AI engineering, and machine learning.
UW-Whitewater emphasizes a commitment to career readiness, innovation, and the preparation of first-generation AI professionals.
The university has established an internal working group, an AI-focused website, and a Center for Ethical AI Integration to support research and outreach.
AI-related coursework is also available in business analytics and marketing programs through the College of Business and Economics.
