WIPO’s AIII Launch: EWC’s intervention and appeal to always respect the ART principle – EWC

The AI Infrastructure Interchange (AIII) was launched by WIPO, focusing on global dialogue about AI-related technical and IP challenges.
During the event, EWC highlighted the importance of developing measures for proper marking and labeling of AI-produced content.
EWC Secretary-General, Nicole Pfister Fetz, expressed her perspective as a representative of authors, emphasizing the impact of AI on authors.
Key points put forward by EWC involve mandatory, multi-layered and fine-grained labeling, supporting both human-readable and machine-readable labels.
EWC stressed the need for involvement of mandated authors’ organizations in future events and negotiations to ensure their creative rights are protected.
EWC emphasized the relevance of following the ART principle — Authorisation, Remuneration, and Transparency — for intellectual property laws related to AI.
