Americans remain cautious about artificial intelligence

Growing Concern About AI: According to Pew Research Center, many Americans express concern regarding the expanding role of artificial intelligence (AI) in daily life.
Split Feelings Toward AI: Half of U.S. adults feel more concerned than excited about increased AI use, while only 10% feel more excited than concerned. In 2021, 37% were more concerned than excited.
Optimistic and Pessimistic Views: While 44% see a positive impact of AI on medical care, only 24% and 23% hold similarly optimistic views regarding education and job performance respectively.
Widespread AI Usage and Awareness: 21% of U.S. workers now use AI for part of their work, and nearly all Americans are aware of AI, with knowledge increasing from 26% in 2022 to 47% in 2025.
Younger Adults and Teens with AI Interaction: Younger adults and teens report higher interaction rates with AI; about half of adults under 50 interact with AI daily, and 64% of teens have used AI chatbots, many for academic help.
