AI Favorability: Only 26% of surveyed voters view AI positively, while 46% hold a negative view and 28% are unsure or have no opinion, resulting in a net favorability of -20.
AI Ranking Among Topics: AI is ranked less favorably than several political figures and entities, including President Donald Trump, former Vice President Kamala Harris, the Republican Party, and Stephen Colbert. It ranks only slightly more positively than Iran and the Democratic Party.
Disconnect Between Adoption and Opinion: Despite the industry’s major investments in AI, including the release of GPT 5.4 and partnerships with the US Department of Defense, public opinion remains cautious due to concerns like job displacement, privacy issues, misinformation, and devaluing human-made work.
