Parker considers artificial intelligence system at O’Brien Park

The Town of Parker is seeking a state grant to use Nureal.ai’s AI technology and smart lighting in O’Brien Park to reduce vandalism and after-hours misuse.
The town has experienced significant vandalism in the park, spending approximately $18,000 on repairs from 2023 to 2025, in addition to the nearly $54,000 invested in lighting, cameras, and increased patrols since 2020.
Nureal.ai technology would employ AI to analyze live video feeds from camera systems mounted on existing streetlights to detect and report loitering or vandalism in real time.
The proposed $259,831 grant, if approved, would fund the hardware, installation, software, and a three-year service agreement for the technology.
The AI system aims to provide early warnings for potential vandalism incidents and help the Parker Police Department strategically plan patrols, all while ensuring that privacy and security regulations are met.
