Anthropic is tracking which jobs are most exposed to AI. These 10 professions top the list.

Anthropic has developed an early warning system to monitor which U.S. job sectors are most vulnerable to artificial intelligence, revealing that many white-collar roles face significant exposure.
Current research shows limited evidence that AI has yet significantly impacted employment, though there is only suggestive evidence that hiring for younger workers has slowed in roles identified as exposed to AI.
Anthropic analyzed AI’s capabilities relative to its current use in various professions and found that AI has so far had little measurable impact on the labor market.
Ten specific professions are identified as most exposed to AI based on the percentage of tasks the technology could potentially perform: computer programmers, customer service reps, data entry keyers, medical record specialists, market research analysts and marketing specialists, sales reps, financial and investment analysts, software quality assurance analysts, information security analysts, and computer user support specialists.
Professions deemed highly exposed to AI are projected to grow more slowly through 2034 and are typically filled by older, female, more educated, and higher-paid workers.
Occupations with low exposure to AI, that tend to require physical skills, include jobs like groundskeepers, cooks, motorcycle mechanics, lifeguards, and bartenders.
