The University of Kentucky’s ALT Hub, in collaboration with experts across campus, has introduced a new online training course aimed at enhancing AI literacy among faculty and staff.
-
This initiative is part of the Commonwealth AI Transdisciplinary Strategy (CATS AI), which is the university’s approach to promote the responsible use of AI in education, research, healthcare, and operations.
-
The course is adapted from the undergraduate curriculum “TEK 100 (Collaborative Intelligence — Understanding and Using Modern AI)” to serve as an introductory guide to AI for university employees.
-
It consists of six modules each focusing on different essential skills for understanding modern AI and its responsible use, culminating in a final project where participants propose AI-driven solutions to real-world problems.
-
The training is fully online and asynchronous, allowing participants to progress at their own pace and choose to engage more deeply through additional related hours.
-
Each module is designed with a distinct objective, ranging from vocabulary building to ethical considerations and societal impacts of AI.
