India Summit a ‘Mahakumbh’ for artificial intelligence: Jitin Prasada

Union Minister Jitin Prasada described the five-day AI Summit as the “Mahakumbh for artificial intelligence”, highlighting its scale and historic significance for India’s digital journey.
The minister emphasized moving from being AI users to creators under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, positioning India towards self-reliance and global AI leadership.
Prasada noted that technology and trade are driving economic expansion in India and warned against inflexibility in adapting to future technological advancements.
The minister stressed that AI should serve as a capacity-building tool for young Indians and highlighted the need for sector-specific and region-specific AI deployment.
He underscored the importance of democratizing AI technology to benefit society and discussed making quality data available to genuinely transform lives.
The ‘India AI Impact Expo 2026’ is expected to attract over 2.5 lakh participants, including international delegates, aiming to foster new partnerships and business opportunities in the global AI ecosystem.
