The traditional method of facial reconstruction trauma using bent titanium plates was time-consuming and often dissatisfying for surgeon Dr. Simon Wright.
Modern technology is now being used to provide a more accurate and efficient solution: an artificial intelligence-aided CT scan followed by a custom 3D-printed jawbone plate.
Buie’s plate was made and delivered in record time, a first for Des Moines trauma surgeons, showcasing an accelerated process that cut weeks-long surgeries down to days.
