The Gulf Coast Business Council (GCBC) and The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) have launched the GCBC-USM Executive Leadership Academy focused on artificial intelligence (AI) leadership.

The nine-month program will educate up to 25 senior executives from various industries on AI’s impact on business operations and leadership.

Monthly in-person meetings will commence on March 13, 2026, concluding in November, with sessions at USM’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, Mississippi.

The initiative aims to prepare leaders to manage AI governance, ethical oversight, and strategic direction to ensure AI’s benefits are maximized while minimizing risks.

Graduates will receive certifications and a capstone leadership project that integrates AI strategy into long-term organizational plans.

The program is targeting senior executives and decision-makers responsible for strategy, governance, workforce leadership, and innovation.
