WATCH: Supt. Mark Pearmain reconvenes with AI Student Council

A group of tech-savvy students from Grade 7 to 12 discussed their views on artificial intelligence (AI) with Superintendent Mark Pearmain.
The students provided updates on notable changes in AI usage in their learning since September.
They shared personal insights on how AI has been most beneficial to them and outlined their main concerns as AI continues to evolve.
Topics covered in their discussion included privacy, environmental impacts, the need for consistent guidelines, and predictions for the future of learning with AI in their district.
This year’s AI Student Council included returning members from the first session along with new faces, broadening the range of student perspectives in Surrey and White Rock schools.
