Deepened Conversation Context: Anthropic’s new feature, Claude Tag, deepens the Slack conversation by allowing the bot to draw on relevant information from Slack channels, building context in a way it previously couldn’t.
-
Renaming and Access Management: The existing Claude app in Slack will be renamed to Claude Tag on August 3. It joins as a separate user, can be granted access to selected channels, and integrated with various tools and data.
-
Task Completion and Reminders: When tagged, Claude Tag completes tasks in stages and posts responses in a Slack thread. It can remind users of tasks, schedule future tasks, and proactively message unresolved threads.
-
Proactive Usage: By enabling ambient behavior, Claude Tag can operate across multiple Slack channels, continuing conversations where the last interaction left off.
-
Pricing and Privacy Controls: The feature is currently in beta for companies with Team and Enterprise plans. Usage is billed either to an individual Claude account or the organization. Admins can control usage, and privacy is managed according to Slack’s retention policies.
-
Separation of Data: Conversations with Claude Tag follow the individual organization’s Slack retention policies and are separate from personal Claude data history. If disconnected, conversations are deleted after 30 days.
