Anthropic launches Claude Tag in Slack

Anthropic launched an AI agent called Claude Tag within Salesforce’s Slack app to assist employees in group chats, marking a significant push into the enterprise market.
The AI agent can join Slack threads by being summoned with “@Claude” and can read conversations, break down tasks, and flag relevant updates proactively.
The tool retains context over time and is currently in beta for customers of Claude Enterprise and Claude Team with plans for broader platform expansion.
Anthropic’s initiative capitalizes on substantial demand from businesses, boosting its valuation to $965 billion and surpassing that of OpenAI.
Administrators are able to control the data and tools that Claude Tag can access, providing a customized experience for each channel.
According to general manager of Slack, Rob Seaman, the integration transforms AI interaction into a collaborative environment rather than a private back-and-forth.
Anthropic plans to bring these capabilities to other platforms in the near future, aiming to enhance interaction and responsiveness.
