Using an unordered list, summarize the following article with between 4 and 8 key points. San Diego City College received a $1 million federal grant Monday to create an on-campus site to train students in cybersecurity, one of the fastest-growing disciplines at American colleges and universities.
The training hub will primarily support the college’s new bachelor’s degree program in cyber defense and analysis, which will graduate its first students in the spring. The program is preparing students to work at such cyber-centric institutions as Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Booz Allen Hamilton.
The $1 million grant was obtained by San Diego Congressmember Scott Peters, who said Monday, “students will have access to high-performance technology to practice incident response to ransomware and network attack scenarios in a safe, simulated environment.
“That level of technical, real-world preparation will ensure that these students are well-equipped to power our national and local response” to attacks, he said.
