LiveOne, a streaming audio company, eliminated over 250 jobs last year through investments in artificial intelligence.
The company reported lower revenue for fiscal Q3 2026 but improved on financial losses compared to the prior year.
LiveOne’s revenue for Q3 was $20.26 million, a 31% decrease from the previous year, while its financial loss was $1.95 million, an improvement from the $5.11 million loss a year earlier.
The company’s workforce was reduced from 350 to 88 positions through streamlining efforts enabled by AI tools.
The default streaming music service in Tesla vehicles, a beneficial perk that ended in 2024, still allows Tesla drivers discounted access to LiveOne’s premium offerings.
Over 1.3 million users are opting for LiveOne’s ad-supported streaming, which is available for free and can be accessed by anyone, regardless of Tesla ownership.
LiveOne sold the rights to three podcasts during its fiscal Q3 to major TV and streaming platforms, although specific details were not disclosed.
The company is considering selling a subsidiary and pursuing a new business-to-business partnership to expand its reach to over 30 million monthly paying subscribers.
