- Dr. Kelly Cohen is a distinguished professor and the Brian H. Rowe Endowed Chair in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, serving since 2007.
- Additionally, Dr. Cohen has a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and directs the AI Bio Lab in UC’s Digital Futures initiative.
- He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
- Dr. Cohen’s extensive academic career bridges aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
- His research focuses include responsible and explainable AI, fuzzy logic, assured autonomy, multi-agent decision-making, collaborative robotics, and advanced aerospace control technologies.
- He has received significant research funding from federal agencies such as NSF, NIH, USAF, DHS, DOT, and NASA, as well as industry partners for projects in UAVs, safety-critical AI, and AI-enabled biomedical applications.
- Dr. Cohen has held leadership roles, including serving as President of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS) and previously holding an interim head position in UC’s aerospace engineering department.
