Recent INTERPOL assessments reveal a significant increase in cybercrime activity across Asia and the South Pacific, with ransomware affecting sectors including manufacturing, real estate, and financial services. More than 135,000 ransomware-related attacks were recorded across the region during 2024. INTERPOL has also highlighted the growing role of AI-enabled cybercrime and ransomware-as-a-service platforms in accelerating attacks.<\/p>\n

International operations coordinated through INTERPOL have recently led to the disruption of tens of thousands of malicious servers and IP addresses linked to ransomware, phishing, and malware campaigns.
