Why why does Apple feel like, you know, we got to get these fixes into customer hands faster? 00:13 Dan Yeah, this is just the the new reality I think when it comes to uh AI and cybersecurity. Uh you know, there there’s there’s a few places where AI really shines. It’s coding, obviously, uh and it’s sorting through information very uh quickly uh and finding different uh uh uh I guess flaws and issues in software. 00:37 Dan Uh and so they’ve managed to build up uh these capabilities within AI models without necessarily wanting to. I mean, Anthropic has said when they built their mythos model, that huge model that they said they were only releasing to a certain amount of folks because it was able to find flaws. They didn’t train it for cyber security. They just trained it to be a general use model and it just so happened to be great at finding flaws uh and then ways to exploit those flaws. 01:05 Dan And, you know, just a little bit of FYI, flaws are uh you know, little mistakes that have been made in code over the years and you know, because codes are made by uh code is written by humans, that can be exploited uh and used to take over systems. Um that’s really where Apple is at this point saying, look, this is going to be coming faster than we’ve ever seen before and we have to be ready. So we’re going to be deploying these fixes before we would traditionally do with with larger software updates. 01:31 Dan So, you know, it just it seems to make sense and it seems as though that’s where the world is going to be. And just, you know, to put a a point on the humans make flaws uh in software, it’s also worth pointing out that cyber security experts that I’ve spoken to have said that, you know, AI coding doesn’t exactly help. Uh it’s, you know, pushing code faster, but then there’s less of a review process and so that can introduce its own kind of flaws. 01:54 Dan So, we’ll still continue to see flaws in software. This is just a way for companies to try to stay ahead of them and ensure that they can’t be exploited over time.
