While the county hasn\u2019t fully explained what caused the questionable activity and is still examining the issue, the county has twice been attacked by cybercriminals in recent years.<\/p>\n

A 2023 ransomware attack all but shut down the county\u2019s court system. And last summer, cyberattackers accessed employees\u2019 and civilians\u2019 personal data, resulting in the county offering affected people a year\u2019s worth of free credit monitoring.<\/p>\n

The county is still working to recover its network after last week\u2019s problem.\u201cWe understand and apologize for the inconvenience caused by this important and detailed process,\u201d Blackwell said. \u201cWe appreciate the public’s patience while this work is completed.\u201d<\/p>\n
