Two Egyptian Students Reach International Cybersecurity Challenge Finals<\/p>\n

Two students from Mansoura University will represent Egypt as part of the African team in the global finals of the 2026 International Cybersecurity Challenge in Australia.<\/p>\n

Ziad Mohamed El-Saeed El-Zanqrani and Mohamed Wagdy Mohamed Khalaf are students at Mansoura University\u2019s Faculty of Engineering.<\/p>\n

Saudi University Earns Global Certificate for Clinical Research<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia\u2019s Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam has received Global Clinical Site Assessment certification. It is awarded by the International Accreditation Organisation for Clinical Research based in the United Kingdom. The Saudi Press Agency\u00a0 said the university is the second in Saudi Arabia to earn \u00a0the international certification. \u00a0Dr. Iman Al-Sulami, Director of the university\u2019s Translational Medical Research Centre, said the achievement reflected the university\u2019s commitment to global standards of quality, governance, safety, and ethics in clinical trials. The award would also help it attract and conduct high-quality local and international clinical studies, which transform scientific innovations into therapeutic and preventive solutions for the community.<\/p>\n

Qatar\u2019s Earthna Prize Has Million Dollar Pool<\/p>\n

Earthna Centre for a Sustainable Future , a member of Qatar Foundation, is offering a $1million prize pool\u00a0 to four winners at the third global Earthna Summit in 2027. The prizes will be for solutions to pressing environmental challenges \u00a0\u00a0affecting water and food supply , terrestrial ecosystems, marine and coastal ecosystems, and urban life. Submissions for the Earthna Prize are open until 20 July 2026. Non-governmental organisations, community groups, and businesses can apply via the prize\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

London Business School Reports Sharp Rise in Saudi Demand<\/p>\n

London Business School has reported a sharp increase in demand from Saudi executives for leadership education programmes. The school said the take up of places in its Open Executive Education courses had increased by 82 percent between 2022 and 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The school told Al-Fanar Media that Saudi participation in the Open Executive Education courses had gone up by 88 percent\u00a0 in\u00a0 the same period,\u00a0 as the country tries to meet the goals of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman\u2019s \u2018Vision 2030\u2019 to diversify the Kingdom\u2019s economy away from its dependence on oil.<\/p>\n

The school said Saudi nationals now account for 67 percent of Gulf-based participation in its Executive Education programmes and are the largest nationality group in the \u00a0Executive MBA programme \u00a0at its \u00a0Dubai campus. Tim Landucci, London Business School\u2019s Head of Office in Saudi Arabia said the country\u2019s transformation was creating new leadership demands across the public and private sectors, which was why the school has recently opened \u00a0a dedicated Executive Education office in Riyadh.\u00a0 It had also seen a 52 percent year-on-year increase in participation by Saudi women executives in the last academic year.<\/p>\n

Emirates Robotics Competition Opens Registration\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dubai Future Labs and Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai have opened registration for the Emirates Robotics Competition. This year they are inviting university students from across the United Arab Emirates to design and develop intelligent robotic systems for large libraries.\u00a0 Applications will remain open until 31 May 2026.<\/p>\n

According to the Emirates News Agency, this year\u2019s challenge is to \u00a0design \u00a0robotic solutions for \u00a0large libraries, including autonomously returning books, encyclopaedias, multimedia materials, and archived content to their designated shelves and storage locations within Mohammed bin Rashid Library. The competition will take place in two stages. During the simulation phase, participating teams will develop and test their systems in a virtual environment, where their methodologies, algorithms, and robotic designs will be evaluated. Shortlisted teams will then move to the deployment phase, testing their solutions on robotic platforms at Mohammed bin Rashid Library.<\/p>\n
