\nThat\u00a0open access\u00a0combined with the inability to simply block incoming interactions puts heavy pressure on identity\u00a0verification\u00a0systems, Cherukuri explained.\u00a0\u00a0
\n\u201cMost people do not know the difference between a federal government and\u00a0D.C.\u00a0government. They think that\u00a0the\u00a0D.C.\u00a0government is\u00a0actually the\u00a0federal government.\u00a0So,\u00a0by de facto, we become the prime target every single time\u00a0\u2026\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0not happy,\u201d Cherukuri said.\u00a0

\nDyer added that zero trust investments \u2013 such as multifactor authentication and privileged access controls \u2013 have reduced risk at the federal level, but emerging threats from artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping priorities and requiring constant adaptation.\u00a0
