Healthcare organizations can take advantage of new cybersecurity guidance from the federal government that will help them assess their practices and identify risks.
\nThe Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Thursday released an updated version of its Risk Identification and Site Criticality (RISC) toolkit that assesses organizations against the latest NIST Cybersecurity Framework and HHS\u2019s own Cybersecurity Performance Goals.
\nThe new cybersecurity module \u201cwill help our partners understand what is needed to strengthen their resilience and we strongly encourage them to take advantage of it,\u201d John Knox, HHS\u2019s principal deputy assistant secretary for preparedness and response, said in a statement.
\nRISC 2.0 \u201ccan compare multiple facilities across systems, coalitions, and regions to identify dependencies and interdependencies in a consistent, repeatable way,\u201d HHS said on the toolkit\u2019s website.
