(Northern News Now) – UW-Superior is preparing to welcome its first cybersecurity class as part of a new concentration in the university’s computer science program.Growing demand for cybersecurity over the past decade, along with rapid advances in technology including artificial intelligence and increasingly sophisticated scams, has driven the addition of the concentration.Dr. Jonathan Totoshek, chair of the math and computer science department, said the program will bring promising opportunities.“Data security is one of the biggest threats that we face in society these days and having more competent people in place to keep our data safe is a very important role,” Totoshek said.UWS Computer Lab(NNN)Program adapts to AI threatsClasses range from entry-level programming to advanced database courses.
