Anthropic has launched a specialized version of its AI assistant, Claude, for teachers, marking the company’s entry into the growing market of AI products designed for K-12 education.

Anthropic is addressing privacy concerns by ensuring that the tool complies with federal student privacy laws, doesn’t use teacher-student conversations for training, and communicates its privacy terms in clear language.
The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) is collaborating with Anthropic and other AI providers to establish privacy standards and train educators on AI usage, though not all AI educators’ training efforts are aligned.
Increased adoption of AI in education is noted, with more teachers using AI, although it’s uncertain which AI products may become the standard in schools.
