JACKSONVILLE, Texas — Some online services for the City of Jacksonville are down after officials said a cybersecurity incident took place.

According to a spokesperson for the city, on July 3 city officials detected “suspicious network activity” related to a cybersecurity incident. Affected systems were taken offline, and an investigation has been launched to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

At this time, some services offered by the City may be currently unavailable as the investigation continues and as we work to bring systems back online,” according to a statement from the city. “The City of Jacksonville is implementing business continuity workarounds where possible. To proactively protect our  systems, we have implemented additional security measures and enhanced monitoring across our network.”
