Alwyn Thomas, head of software and IT security at Mad Devs, said: “The biggest change over the past year has been structural. We’ve always operated responsibly when it comes to security, but following through with ISO 27001 has helped us formalise and strengthen that approach by establishing properly documented processes covering areas such as incident management, business continuity, staff security awareness, and supplier due diligence.
“On the technical side, we’ve made several improvements to strengthen how we protect our platform and customer data, including enhanced threat monitoring across our cloud infrastructure, automated security scanning built into our development process and tighter controls over company devices and endpoints.
“This has been a real team effort. Security is not just an IT responsibility. The whole company has taken its security responsibilities seriously, and that commitment from everyone has been key to achieving this milestone.”
Mad Devs achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the internationally recognised standard for information security management systems.
The accreditation provides independent verification that an organisation has implemented robust processes to identify, manage and mitigate information security risks while protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.
Risks include ransomware, phishing attacks and data breaches. Dealers are increasingly reliant on digital systems to manage customer relationships and business operations.
